Culinary Delights of Fuerteventura
We had lots of time to explore the culinary delights of this island. Starting at Mi Casa in the town of Corralejo
A visit to this restaurant is a must if you enjoy fine wine and food. This relaxing, rustic, shabby chic environment has stunning views over to the marina and Lobos.
We were introduced to the menu which is small but oozes quality!
Starting with bruscetta we followed this with two stunning main courses. One Dorado the other beef, both beautifully presented on a bed of black slate. To finish we tried the tiramisu which was amazing and completed our meal perfectly.
Overall, from the moment you step into this little oasis, the world just drifts by as you savour the cuisine and the accompanying drinks. The service was good and attention to detail in the presentation was excellent.
We would highly recommend a visit to Mi Casa the next time you're in town. A beautiful evening and one that we will remember for some time.
Other restaurants we visited
is a well established restaurant along the promenade in Corralejo, and this was our first visit. The menu was full of tempting dishes. We eventually decided on a Caesar salad for starters. Followed by Icelandic cod and my partner had the fish of the day. For dessert we had chocolate truffles on a bed of cream.
The meal from start to finish was delicious, food freshly cooked and very well presented. The ambience is superb in the restaurant with gentle background music along with views across the bay.
We stayed around after our meal for one last drink then our waiter came over and gave us complimentary liqueurs this gave us the perfect end to a perfect evening.
We would definitely return to the Rompeolas and urge others in the area to pay a visit. The prices are reasonable and the food outstanding.
is positioned right on the beach giving you the option to eat in or out on the sand. We opted for the latter on a glorious calm evening. The menu was large and took some time to take in. After ordering drinks one of which a cocktail mai tai, we awaited our starters.
My partner had a Caesar salad and I had a selection of Canarian cheeses. Both were delicious. This was then followed by main courses of fillet steak and tuna.
The food was well cooked but we found the portions to be too large. Leaving little room or appetite for a dessert.
Service was good and speedy and the cost was very reasonable.
The Waikiki is a pleasant stop with a laid back but attentive attitude to its customers. No frills but lots of food to fill anyone's tum after a day on the beach.
Spent the last evening of our holiday in the old town area and came across the . This is an attractive restaurant both inside and out. We managed to get a front of house table. Another reviewer mentioned the fact the tables are quite close together but this really didn't distract us or others around.
Our waiter brought us a complimentary aperitif which consisted of two small nuggets of chicken with caramelised onions. After we ate that he brought it over again! I think he was confused!
For starters we had prawn cocktail and tomato soup. The main consisted of beef stroganoff and lasagne. The quality of the dishes was very good although the portions were a tad too large. We couldn't fit in a sweet although we were given complimentary liqueurs at the end.
The Tio Bernabe is a very good restaurant with a decent menu. The portions are a little extreme but I'm sure some would enjoy that. We had a lovely time here, good food, and good for people watching. This was also one of the most reasonably priced restaurants during our stay.
is situated in the centre of Corralejo close to a number of other bars and restaurants. The building both inside and out is very attractive, you can see that time was taken in creating a wonderful setting for your meal.
However no matter how good the restaurant may look it's all about the food! Im pleased to say this didn't disappoint, we had a shared starter of mixed meats followed by mains of seafood pasta and pork verdi. This was beautifully cooked and presented. Our waitress was excellent, polite and very attentive to our questions and needs.
Overall the La Scarpetta is another little gem we found on our trip to the island.
