Hope you have a nice stay!

Sands Beach Resort, Lanzarote

Sands Beach Resort, Lanzarote

We stayed at the Sands Beach Resort in early November. A short break to catch some sun.

The hotel or rather the complex is pretty large and geared around sporting activity. As you walk through the foyer you will see lots of sporting memorabilia on the walls and details of sporting events that take place in the area.

You have a grocery shop on site along with a sporting shop selling suitable attire for your chosen event etc. There is a bar area also which has nightly entertainment although we never used it as the town was a bigger lure for us.

We opted for a Beach front apartment for our holiday. The apartment was clean the kitchen area had most things you would require for a weeks stay and to be honest the biggest attraction was the fact you were literally 10 yards away from the beautiful man made beach and lagoon and about 50 yards from the Mai Tai bar over the bridge.

In the day you could go and use wind surfers, kayaks and paddle boards, all FREE which was great. The water is only around 3 feet deep anywhere on the lagoon and very child friendly.

In the evening we walked into town, this took around 10 minutes, that would be dependent on how fast or slow you walk, there are bars and restaurants on the way in too, so you can stop, catch your breath and let another small drink slip down!

Our stay at Sands Beach Resort

The hotel has a fabulous location right along side the seafront, and if you can we advise you go for a beach front apartment for your stay. The man made lagoon with it’s beach area is a great place to relax and the children will love it with a host of activities to keep both young and old entertained.

As we went in November the hotel was pretty quiet, so we had the run of the place.

  • On-site beach area

  • Excellent sports facilities

  • Activities for all ages

  • On-site mini-market

The rooms are well equipped and have everything you would need to quickly settle in. Some of the larger rooms have 2 bedroom accommodation for larger groups.

Food is dependent on what type of board basis you would like. From self catering, to B&B and half board options. Breakfast and dinner are taken at the La Hacienda restaurant. Just to note swim wear is not allowed in this area and gents have to wear long trousers!

The Mai Tai bar A la carte. Serves international cuisine for lunch, snacks, breakfast and dinner.

There are 5 outdoor freshwater children’s pools. Sunbathing area with sunbeds. Water toys permitted. Located in 5 of the 6 plazas

You can also find full sporting activities with everything from a purpose built gymnasium, to dance classes, pilates, snooker, table tennis, tennis and yoga and cycling tours are also operated from the site.

There is a kids club called Buddy’s where you can let them play games, do arts and crafts and other numerous things to keep them happy and occupied while you read your book and catch some well deserved sunshine.

For the grown ups, a spa is available and here you can have treatments from massage to beauty.

Overall the hotel was OK, certainly not 4 star as advertised but a decent 3 star.

I'm not sure we would go back, it certainly needs some TLC but the staff on site seemed friendly and attentive and tried their best to make your stay memorable.

For a winter break, no crowds, no hassle, the Sands Beach might just be the place you are looking for?
